Walk with Purpose: How the Kiltwalk Supports Children Facing Trauma.

Every child deserves a safe and happy childhood. But for many, trauma from poverty, neglect, or violence can disrupt those vital early years and impact their emotional development. At With Kids, we provide specialist Play Therapy and family support to help children process difficult experiences and build brighter futures. But we can’t do it alone.

That’s where you come in.

This September 13th 2026, we’re inviting you to join us for the Edinburgh Kiltwalk and take part in the Big Stroll – an 11-mile coastal route from Musselburgh to Murrayfield. It’s a chance to move your body, enjoy the outdoors, and walk alongside people united for a powerful cause.

Why it matters:

  • 1 in 3 children in some areas of Scotland are growing up in poverty
  • Childhood trauma often goes unseen – but its effects can last a lifetime
  • With Kids offers non-judgemental, creative therapeutic support
  • Your fundraising is directly supporting these interventions

And thanks to the Hunter Foundation, every penny you raise gets a 25% boost - making your impact go even further.
